John V. Doull
John V. Doull, Chief Lending Officer, graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Business Finance. Married for over 13 years, his personal passion of supporting his five children in their unique life journeys crosses over to his professional life of 18 years in the banking field. He really enjoys the life cycle of helping start-up businesses build from the ground up to become successful endeavors. Chuck Whittaker
Chuck Whittaker, Assistant Vice President Commercial Loans with Cornerstone Bank, knows commitment. A husband of 38 years, he also has 38 years of loan experience where he is passionate about answering customer’s questions quickly and thoroughly. Chuck’s bucket list includes the opportunity to play golf on a prime piece of real estate such as Pebble Beach. Speaking of real estate, he would love to connect with you to share his specialized knowledge in real estate lending, processing, and underwriting to help you acquire your perfect piece of real estate.
Michelle Guthrie
Michelle Guthrie, Executive Vice President, is passionate about spending time with her family, which include her three English Bulldogs. Her biggest accomplishment has been raising her children and her favorite vacation was a cruise to Bermuda spent with her entire family to celebrate her parent’s 50th wedding anniversary.
She is a pro with fine details from needle pointing to target shooting. Michelle makes relationships a priority and that includes relationships built at work. Cornerstone Bank is her second family. She started in banking at age 15, raised her family and has been at Cornerstone Bank for 20 years. She would love to build a relationship with you and find a solution for your banking needs.
Mike Fugate
Mike has been in the banking field for ten years with eight of those years being in Compliance. He started at Cornerstone Bank November 2017. He loves researching and solving problems to make sure the bank stays in compliance with all applicable laws. As a dedicated lifelong learner, Mike received his M.B.A. from the University of Kansas in 2016. He also currently holds both the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer (CCBCO) designations.
In his spare time, you may find Mike metal detecting, weight training or fishing with his children. He also enjoys exploring the United States with his family; the most recent adventures being a trip to New York City, to watch his wife run the NYC Marathon, and a road trip to visit Silver Dollar City in Branson.
Vickie Fastnacht
Vickie Fastnacht loves being outdoors and has had many adventures. She has hiked through the Hawaiian Islands from bamboo forests, down into the Haleakala volcano, to Waimea Canyon, and up to the waterfalls of Hana. Her bucket list includes a trip to Israel. Closer to home she loves to walk outside or work on her home landscape. Her biggest accomplishment, however, has been raising her three daughters.
Professionally, Vickie is passionate about striving for excellence and being of service to others. She has spent 27 years working in the banking field with 21 of those years in the Commercial Loan area. Her idea of the perfect client is any person or business she can build a relationship with by learning about their story and what is important to them. Vickie responds with quick and informed responses to phone calls or answering any questions they may have when they stop by Cornerstone Bank.
Bob Titus
Bob Titus, Chief Financial Officer for Cornerstone Bank believes in doing the best job he can do and being the best person he can be. This philosophy extends to the workplace where most of Bob’s clients are his co-workers. Bob helps them solve any issues they have related to operating the bank. He has 25 years of experience in banking. Asked about his biggest accomplishment, Bob says that he tries to focus on the big picture, but to motivate himself, he reflects on his past accomplishments. Some of Bob’s fondest recent memories include a trip to Disneyworld with daily morning walks on the beach. He looks forward to visiting Scotland, Ireland, the Vatican and watching the Olympics in person. For now, when he is not working, you can find him in the kitchen cooking up some wonderful dish or working out in his yard.
Ken Torgler
Ken has worked in the banking industry his entire career as a bank regulator that transitioned into commercial credit as a community banker in 2018. The transition into commercial banking has been fulfilling allowing him to assist small businesses, business owners, and company employees. Helping small businesses become more successful and profitable provides a strong sense of accomplishment. A solid community banking relationship can be a key strength to a company’s business strategy. Almost the entire work life was spent in the Kansas City market while residing in Overland Park, Kansas. Ken was Director of Examinations at the Office of the State Bank Commissioner, supervising the entire bank regulatory staff and eight offices across the state. He is a graduate of Pittsburg State University, home of the Gorillas. Other Pitt State graduates include his wife Nancy and daughter Kara, who is a registered nurse in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Currently attending Pitt State is youngest daughter Dani seeking a degree in Corporate Human Resources. When not working, Ken places a strong emphasis on family, church life, and hobbies such as hanging out at the lake, sporting events, movies, reading, and tinkering on small projects around the house.
Mark Clemmons
Mark Clemmons, Vice President Treasury Management, has been helping customers in the banking field for 21 years. Mark says not one day has been the same for him. He is passionate about getting to know and working with Cornerstone Bank customers. Mark helps customers set up their office with the technology they need up to their comfort level. When Mark isn’t assisting customers by phone or in the lobby, he enjoys spending time with his wife of 30 years and their two sons, taking their two dogs to the dog park or lounging on the sofa watching reruns of 1970 and 80’s TV shows. Matt Doull
Matt Doull, Vice President of Commercial Loans, holds a bachelor of science degree in economics from Texas Christian University. Matt has ten years of banking experience, seven of which were spent in the Dallas/Fort Worth area prior to moving home to Kansas City. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his friends/family and staying active.
Madison McDonald
Madison McDonald, Assistant Vice President Commercial Loans, holds a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness from Fort Hays State University. Madison comes to Cornerstone with eight years of professional banking experience. She strives to create a customer relationship that makes every customer feel like part of the family. Madison is married to her husband of six years, and they have three children. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors with her children and working on DIY projects.
Shelly Holle
Shelly Holle, Human Resources Officer, holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Her HR career started in western KS in 1996, before moving to Kansas City in 2019 and joining Cornerstone Bank. Shelly has developed vast knowledge and expertise in the group benefits industry and a broad range of HR initiatives. Understanding that an employee’s work experience has a profound effect on their overall lives, she strives to create a positive experience for every employee. Beginning early in her career, Shelly used her skill sets to support various western KS non-profit organizations. She continues to make an impact supporting Kansas City non-profit organizations as well.
Shelly is an avid concert-goer, loves attending live theater and Kansas City sporting events, and is a lifelong hobby photographer. She can often be found off the beaten path with a camera in hand. Although she prefers to be on the go, at home Shelly loves to garden, sew, cook, and spend time with family and friends.
Brenda Amaro
Brenda Amaro, Operations Officer, looks forward to using her 29 years of banking experience and knowledge to build new relationships with the Cornerstone Banking Team and our clients to fulfill their banking needs. When outside of the bank Brenda enjoys spending time with her family and watching all kinds of sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals.
Liz Butler
Liz started at Cornerstone Bank in October of 2017. As the Loan Review Officer, she reviews loan requests, borrower and guarantor financials, and compiles the information into a memo. She runs reports, reviews appraisals, compiles commercial internal appraisals, stress tests the commercial real estate portfolio annually, compiles the monthly ALLL and concentration reports, and helps when help is needed. What Liz loves the most about her job is being able to help the lenders maintain or further the banking relationship with existing customers through reviewing existing loans and verifying the customers' continuing success. She loves knowing that she is helping a small business grow! In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Melanie Baptiste
My role here at Cornerstone Bank is Loan Operations Officer. I manage the processing team at the bank who handle all of the document processing on our Commercial and Consumer loan transactions for our Loan Officers. I’ve been with the bank since April of 2019 and have been working in Lending Operations for the last 18 years. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my kids and taking them to their events like soccer and martial arts. I also love watching and cheering on Husker Volleyball, Kansas City Chiefs Football, and the KC Current Women’s Soccer team. I enjoy volunteering and teaching our elementary and middle school students at my Church. What I enjoy most about working at Cornerstone Bank are the people I get to work with and our customers who come into the bank. It is truly a great atmosphere to be in and we love to go the extra mile to make sure our customers are taken care of.
